Does Windows 10 have parental controls?
Yes. And you can limit screen time through them.
Limiting the time spent by your children on the screen is the first step you can take as a responsible parent.
Configuring screen time limits on Windows 10 requires you to sign in with the Microsoft account in your family group.
You may then follow these steps in the given order:
Select Screen time under your child’s name.
Turn on Use one schedule for all devices if you need the same settings for every device. Otherwise, scroll down to find the On and Off option for individual devices and choose separately. The option can be turned off if screen time limits are not required at all.
You can either stick to the default Max or individually select the day and how much time and when to allot screen time to the child.
Type in your choices and then select Add.
Finally, save the schedule you have set for the device.
Block unintended games, apps, and media
Online
By setting up an age limit, your child will be unable to buy and use content that is not appropriate for their age.
Open family.microsoft.com and log in with your adult Microsoft account.
Select Content restrictions under your child’s name.
Go to Apps, games & media and turn On Block inappropriate apps, games & media. Choose the right age limit under Allow apps and games rated for.
If you wish to grant access to any of the blocked apps or games, it can be added to the Always allowed list under Content restrictions.
Visit the Activity page to block anything your child downloaded before these limits were set. To let your child use it again, permit email or on family.microsoft.com.
If you don’t want to manage Content restrictions but still want to monitor your child’s browsing activities, turn On Activity reporting.
Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button on the controller.
Select the System and go to Settings.
Next, click on Account>Family.
Under the child’s Account, select Access to content and choose the age limit you want to set. Your child’s restrictions will be set to the age given in the Microsoft account by default.
If you wish to grant access to any of the blocked apps or games, it can be added to the Always allowed list under restrictions on family.microsoft.com.
Besides, there are many exciting features like GPS tracking, that tracks your child’s device in real-time.
This way, you will get to know if he or she crosses safe boundaries. GPS tracking is also found useful in emergencies.
Another notable feature is the social media monitoring that keeps a check on your child’s social media activities.
All the conversations, messages, and files exchanged can be stored on your phones. Similarly, there are many other helpful features provided by mSpy that may excite you.
You can research on the app to find out what they are.
Now that you know the answer to ‘Does Windows 10 have parental controls?’ and more, it is your turn to act.
Get your kids disconnected from the devices and reconnect them with the real world.
